What does it take to go green? There are plenty of little things that you can do to go green if you don't feel as if you have the time to do any big project. A few things you can do are to recycle paper and plastic, take reusable bags to the grocery store, reuse water bottles, and purchase florescent light-bulbs for your home. A few sites suggest setting your thermostat a couple degrees lower in the winter, shutting lights off when you leave the room, reduce water use, walking or biking whenever possible, and recycling electronics as opposed to throwing them in the trash (10 Ways to Go Green).
Planting trees is another excellent way to help the environment due to the fact that they improve our air quality with the oxygen they produce. Trees also reduce storm water run off, preventing flooding. There are plenty more ways that trees help the environment in which we live (Going Green - Plant a Tree).
Kermit the Frog is well known for saying, "It's not easy being green." Kermit was wrong, going green is easy. It is simply a matter of following through.
